Wire Returned After Closing

After a short sale closes and the wire is sent to the mortgage servicer they will require the final closing package to be sent in to them in order to close out the file on their end. The typical documents for a final closing package include a certified HUD, executed approval letter package, and wire confirmation. It is important to ensure that all documents are fully executed and dated. If a bank does not receive a full closing package shortly after closing they will return the buyers wire.

The Wire Returned, Now What!?

The first step is to ensure that the bank receives the complete closing package. Once this is done confirm with the closing officer they just want the wire sent back to them and an updated wire confirmation. Having a wire returned after closing is never a good position to be in, but fortunately the majority of the time there is a simple resolution.
