Green Tree HomePath Short Sale

Green Tree is a mortgage servicer and anyone who has facilitated a few short sales with them may know that they predominantly service Fannie Mae backed loans. With this being said it does not come of a surprise that they will seemingly be implementing Fannie Mae’s HomePath system to assist in the facilitation of short sales on their end. Instead of dealing with only Green Tree, it may soon be required to initiate the file into HomePath as well. Green Tree will still collect the short sale package while Fannie Mae will handle the negotiations of the offer and its terms/allowable fees. Make sure you have a Fannie Mae authorization as this soon will be a required item to work on a short sale with most Green Tree loans.
