What is a Customer Relationship Manager?

Customer Relationship Manager’s also known as a “CRM” are assigned to the loan accounts at Bank of America for customer assistance. Almost all mortgage servicers have representatives similar to a Customer Relationship Manager assigned to each account, but the title they give them may vary. The CRM’s are underpaid and overworked and may be assigned to well over a few hundred loans each. The CRM’s typically are hard to get a hold of and are only useful in limited situation typically pertaining to basic customer service needs.

The Customer Relationship Manager Role In Short Sales

CRM’s are useful in limited situations when it comes to a short sale transaction. They may be able to offer assistance in helping to get in contact with the short sale negotiator by notating their file and sending an internal message to them. Also if it is a FHA short sale you may need to speak to your CRM in order to get the file open for an active Pre-foreclosure sale (PFS) review. The CRM assigned may require a financial interview of the borrower(s) on the loan. For more information on when you may encounter this check out this post. Unless you are advised and required to speak to your CRM it is always better to speak directly to the short sale department or the assigned negotiator directly
